Long Beach Comic Con Oct 29-31

Hey!... Sorry I haven't been posting... To be honest, aside from work related drawing, I have not been drawing much for myself at all. I have probably only done a hand full of drawings since Comic-con back in July. I can't go into any details at this time, but I am sure at some point I can and will talk about it, until then, it is taking a lot out of me.

I have been encouraged by a friend to go to the Long Beach Comic Con... I usually do go, was unsure this year, but of all the shows that I do go to... Long Beach has been the most fun and once I decided to go, I have been a little more productive, at least in gathering up stuff to bring to the show.

If you are in the area, you should really check it out... there is a lot of great talent showing up.

2010 Convention Sketchbooks

So I have gathered up a lot of the stuff from this blog and other places and put together new sketchbooks for the San Diego Comic Con. For those not going to Comic-con, you will not be forgotten, I will be selling them online on my websites.

Ok. So this is not a part of the sequence I have been working on, but it is still drawing. Things are crazy all around me and it has been hard to find the time to draw for myself, but a friend of mine, my muse, has been very sick and today I just found myself sketching her.

Do me a favor and if you look at this, just say to yourself for a second, I hope she's better. Maybe some good vibes will help.

The other day, I got a bunch of sketchbooks and materials from Mike Vosberg. (BTW... Thanks Mike!) Which got a quick thumb through, because I was busy, and set aside for later perusal.

Last night I had a little time to get back into my drawing a day (failed) challenge. I had spent the last couple of days drawing cartoon dinosaurs for and animated commercial and I was dry for sketch ideas. So I reached for the Vosberg Sketchbooks and started flipping. First let me say that Mike Vosberg has some really nice sketchbooks and i encourage others to check them out, and second, I stopped on a piece by him which inspired my magic reds to work. It was a simple shot of a girl, from behind, kneeling with her hands behind her back and fingers intertwined. So.. I took my own stab at it, throwing some of my own personality at it.

02/22/2010 - Not a drawing a day piece

So... Life has me falling a little behind.. There are just some other things that need to get done and I have been working my butt off to get myself caught up so I can get back on this challenge again.. I may have missed days, but I am not giving up.

"Nikki Reflection" I have not been able to show until now, of a piece I did for Carrie Leigh's NUDE Magazine. I think It is one of my favorites of Nikki.

Someone tossed out the idea the other day about wondering what a Lilz version of Little Annie Fanny might look like... Problem with Lilz though is that the size of the eyes effects the shape of the face and I can only do so much and still have it look like Lilz.

You never think about, when you are setting up a drawing, all the little details, like scales, that will take up 80% of your time for the piece.. If I do Barda again, it will probably be in the other outfit.. the bikini looking one. Yeah.. That's the ticket!
